Cumbres de Arutam offers authentic ayahuasca retreats in the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador, guided by Uwishin (Shaman) Arutam Ruymán and a dedicated team. Rooted in the ancestral Shuar tradition and sustained by a living lineage, our mission is to preserve and transmit the path of the jungle — a demanding and sacred process that calls for sincerity, courage, and commitment. Through traditional ceremonies with plant medicine, lived teachings, and spiritual guidance, we accompany those who step forward with respect and the willingness to walk a true path.

The retreat center offers shared spaces for daily life and rest: the traditional ceremony house, kitchen and dining area, gardens, forest trails, river access for bathing, and quiet places in nature to sit or meet. All areas are kept simple and well cared for, respecting the rhythm of the forest and the needs of the retreat.

Directions
Our retreat center is located deep in the Amazon, about 6 hours from Quito airport and 1.5 hours from the town of Puyo.
You can choose to arrive on your own, or we can help coordinate transportation from the airport with one of our trusted local drivers.
This service is not included in the retreat price, but once your place is confirmed, we’ll share all the details and assist you with the arrangements.
