Directions
Airport Transfer Options
We recommend flying into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José, Costa Rica. There is also a smaller Limón Airport, located in the same province as Puerto Viejo, which serves domestic and limited international flights.
Shared Shuttle:
Comfortable, air-conditioned shuttles can be booked online through companies such as Caribe Shuttle or other reputable carriers. They provide door-to-door service from the airport or your hotel in San José directly to Puerto Viejo—a scenic journey of about five to six hours.
Private Car:
For a more personalized and flexible option, we can connect you with our preferred private driver, who offers safe and reliable service from San José or Limón straight to Nemetona Sacred Space.
Local Bus:
For a more local experience, take the MEPE bus from San José’s Terminal Atlántico Norte to Puerto Viejo. This affordable option runs several times daily and takes approximately six hours through Costa Rica’s lush countryside.
