Over 20 years ago a car accident caused our Founder and Head Troublemaker, -V- (like the letter as he'd say), two herniated disks and a pinched sciatica nerve. As an olympic level swimmer, to hear the news that you'll never be able to compete or run again, is the kind of news that makes one say FTS (that’s short for Fu*k That Sh*t, for those of you unfamiliar). What started as a journey of self healing and proving others wrong, progressed into a realization that the medical system is outdated. It’s education and information flows had proven ineffective and unacceptable for -V-’s issues, after multiple consultations with Surgeons, Chiropractors, as well as Physical Therapists. Surgeons understood surgery and fixing broken parts, Chiropractors understood the spine and how it moves, Physical therapists understood muscles, yet none of these “experts” understood the problem, only attempted to alleviate the "pain". This was the beginning of a long journey of study and application that allowed -V- to address movement dysfunctions, eliminate pain and improve performance for all its clients. ​ There are few specialists out there that are looking at the body as a single, cohesive system that works as a unit. It’s like that saying “If someone is holding a hammer, everything starts looking like a nail." As a Movement Specialist, -V- took the most effective findings from various mind & body focused disciplines (neuroscience, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics) to combine the best parts of each ,formulating a cohesive approach to health, wellness and intelligent movement. This knowledge has been amassed over the twenty years, 12 different certifications, countless studies replicated and many other people "fixed". V has a tried and true program that has delivered measurable results both in its one-on-one and workshop applications. Now the moment has come to expand that reach. Our mission is to empower those willing to put in the work to become an expert on their own body. We are all born with this amazing piece of "hardware", the human body, yet no one gave us the "User Manual” (maybe it was just us that missed that day in school). Once we understand how the body works, how it is designed to move and the ALiGNment under which it can heal itself, we will be able to manage/address our movement dysfunctions and live happy, strong and pain free lives! ​ Pain has become endemic in our “modern” society. Over 100 million people in the US suffer from chronic pain. Sadly, the vast majority of us have drawn the conclusion that pain is something that happens with age, something that can't really be cured. This fallacy, leads to all sorts of negative physical and psychological disorders. We have become less consistent in our movement, more withdrawn and more susceptible to other, even more detrimental ailments that are causing more lack of movement. All of this is a consequence of our “new & improved” lifestyles, the result of which is physical and psychological pain in all it’s various forms (obesity, depression, etc). Welcome to a very depressing “normal”.
