About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

Life has a way of pulling couples in a hundred different directions. Work, family, and everyday demands often leave little space to slow down and truly connect. Couples Weekend at The Oaks is your chance to step out of the noise and give focused attention to your relationship. It is time to invest in what you are building together, clarify your vision, and rediscover the joy of being partners in life.
This retreat is designed to be both meaningful and fun. You will have guided sessions that strengthen your foundation, practical tools you can bring home, and plenty of space to relax and enjoy our 240 acre property. Walk the trails, take a swim, try pickleball, or roast s’mores by the fire. The weekend holds room for reflection and growth alongside laughter and play.
Price includes lodging, programming, and meals for two people. Extra experiences such as massage or one on one coaching can be added separately after you register. Everything on the schedule is optional. Some couples will dive into every session, others will use the time to rest or play. However you choose to engage, our hope is that you leave feeling refreshed, reconnected, and ready to carry what you gained back into daily life.
ScheduleCheck in is Friday between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. The first session begins at 4:30 pm on Friday. We wrap up on Sunday around 10:30 am. Because we are about an hour outside San Diego, we recommend leaving a little buffer for travel and lunch so you are not rushed. If you want more time, we also offer a Thursday early check in option that includes a pre retreat session, giving you three nights and two full days.

Sessions and Workshops
Pre Retreat Session: Reflecting on Your RelationshipAvailable with early check in, this session gives you and your partner time to pause before the weekend begins. Together you will reflect on where your relationship is right now, name what is working well, and identify areas you want to grow. It is a gentle way to set the tone and arrive with a shared focus.
Effective Communication: Listening Beyond WordsSo much of a strong relationship comes down to how we listen and how we speak. In this session you will practice tools that help you hear what your partner really means, not just what they are saying. You will explore how to navigate tension and repair after conflict without losing respect or connection. These are simple practices you can take home and use in everyday conversations.
Building Trust and Intimacy: Rekindling ConnectionPhysical intimacy is a vital part of a healthy relationship, yet it is often the first thing to fade when life feels busy or overwhelming. This session creates space for couples to talk honestly about closeness, desire, and connection, exploring how emotional intimacy and physical intimacy go hand in hand. With gentle guidance and practical tools, you will discover ways to reignite passion, deepen closeness, and bring more playfulness back into your relationship.
Shared Vision and Goals: Aligning What Matters MostIt is easy to get so caught up in daily responsibilities that you forget where you are headed. This session invites you to lift your eyes and talk about the bigger picture. What do you want your life together to look like? What values do you want to guide you? Where do your individual hopes intersect? You will walk away with a clearer sense of direction and the encouragement to move toward it together.
Nurturing Fun and Play: Rediscovering Joy TogetherFun is not an extra in relationships. It is fuel. This session brings joy back into focus through shared activities that remind you why you enjoy being together. From lighthearted games to creative exercises, you will rediscover the playfulness that often gets lost in the rush of everyday life. Couples often say this is the session that helps them remember not just why they love each other, but why they actually like each other too.

Couples Weekend at The Oaks is not just about fixing what is broken. It is about creating space to strengthen what is good, tend to what needs care, and remind you why your relationship matters. Escape with us for a weekend that helps you reconnect, recharge, and return home with fresh energy for the life you are building together.

Amazing Family Weekend!
I just returned from Family Weekend at The Oaks with my two teenage girls. We all loved it! The staff was engaging, attentive, fun and kind. The facilities were updated and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The weekend was full of family, time, growth and fun... and no screen time! We will definitely be back next year!

Attention to Detail with all the personal touches
Wow. What a spot. The Oaks has everything you need to rest and make a memory or two. Instagram-worthy decor - imagine if Joanna Gaines remodeled a youth camp - makes this place cozy and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and kind and learned everyone's name the first day. The food was on the level of any resort you could go to. And the pool - let's just say that you HAVE to do the slide and high dive. I'd say more but let's do our best to keep this gem of southern California a secret.

A wonderful escape to slow down and focus on one's self
I registered for a weekend retreat, and was rewarded with a place to rest, find some clarity (and tools to use for later), make connections with others, and relax. The weekend had emotionally challenging conversations and workshops, as well as time for fun. I would like to go back again, and make The Oaks part of a regular rhythm of my life. You have to show up, and make the space to do the emotional, and spiritual work. You will get out what you put into the program. The food was delicious- in a way that you were not stuffed and, never left feeling hungry, to be fueled for the day. I am sure that the menu was intentionally designed to provide you a healthy foundation for the weekend. The property is gorgeous. I often just laid under the oaks to read and reflect, and enjoyed sitting on the deck, in a rocking chair, connecting with others.

Amazing grounds, staff and food!
Loved everything about The Oaks! The room was lovely, very clean and well furnished. I stayed in the Kendall building. The food was EXCELLENT and was able to accommodate for my gluten-free and dairy-free food options. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful, esp with the golf carts bringing you back and forth to your car and helping with the bags. The atmosphere was very relaxed and peaceful. My favorite part was the trail riding and also the hike to the water tower to watch the sunset. Highly recommend for a solitary retreat or group retreat or any other type of retreat event!
My only advice would be to allow extra time to get there- depending on where you are driving from. I drove from the Orange County area and it took over 3 hours to get there on a Friday afternoon (left at 2pm and got there around 530pm). On the way home- late Sunday afternoon- it only took an hour and half to get back (no traffic).

Absolutely Fantastic
This was my second time at a Flagship Retreat at The Oaks.
The property is well appointed, comfortable, and not at all cluttered.
The staff is delightful and very hospitable. I felt right at home the moment I arrived and all throughout the weekend.
The pace of the Flagship Retreat is spot on. They have truly crafted all of the right elements for a thoughtful, restful, and very fun retreat.
I'll be back!
