About this Retreat
Misael is a profesional surfer, born and raised in Puerto Escondido. He is been surfing his whole life, he participates as a surf judge in tournaments and is a founder of Amisurf an organization thatt provides certification for surf instructors. He has teached surf for more than 10 years, outside of the water he is an environmentalist and elemtary school teacher.
Ozlem has been teaching yoga since 2014. She infuses an myriad of styles into her classes.
Her slow flow into yin classes, is a deep, slow practice that encourages us to move within. Giving us an opportunity to reflect and pause, gaining an better understanding of moving and breathing awareness.
Ozlem, encourages her students to listen to their bodies energetic actions with focus on breathing and alignment; her classes are friendly, fun and suitable for practitioners of all levels.
Ozlem, Slow Flow into Yin
Paz is from Israel, she teaches Ashtanga which is a very dymanic and athletic form of Yoga, it consists of fixed series of postures, it is rooted in vinyasa, the flowing movements between postures, with a focus on energy and breath. While it is a very physical practice, it also promotes mental clarity and inner peace.
Alexi teaches yin yoga classes are meditative and deeply relaxing as we use time and gravity to slowly open the body, she mixes it with soundhealing, a form of meditation that uses the sound of various instruments to heal the body, mind and spirit.
Power Yoga The style of Yoga Isabel teaches is a dynamic yet also very spiritually binding practice. She focuses on strength and correct alignment in her physical classes alongside her spirituality. This powerful asana practice will help your muscle memory to build a deep foundation for inversions arm balances. Explore not only the body, but the mind and soul with Isabel and explode into your practice.

Holistic Reconnection Retreat in Mexico
Give yourself the opportunity to reconnect with your body and soul in our little paradise. This retreat will be a holistic journey designed for you to strengthen the connection between body, mind and soul, You can take up to three yoga classes per day, we offer different styles of yoga; If you feel like relaxing and stretching you can take a restorative yin, yin, or hatha, but if you are feeling more dynamic we also offer ashtanga, power yoga and even acro yoga on fridays ! Our shala overlooks the ocean, perfect for connecting with yourself.

You will also get super active in the water with the surf lessons guided by Misael, a professional native Oaxacan surfer, he’s been teaching for more than ten years and he will take you to the best beach for your surfing level, don’t worry if you never surfed before, he is nice, funny and attentive to your needs.
During this retreat you will participate in two workshops or ceremonies, could be a Cacao Ceremony, temazcal, ràpe, breathwork, soundhealing or other. The kind of ceremony will depend on the availability of our facilitators at the moment, we will let you know some weeks before the retreat.
Barbarenas is an eco-sustainable place that feels like a hidden oasis, its warmth and love of mother nature will embrace you through this time of self enrichment, yoga, surfing and healthy nutritious vegan food.
Keep in mind that for this little paradise you will need bug spray as well as cash (we are still a little beautiful town with few ATMS around ) . Also we are expanding, so during your stay you may hear some construction noise but it shouldn’t interfere with your tranquility.
