Wonderful week at Tuscan Fitness
The hotel is lovely, rustic, and as they are original buildings, they don’t all have air conditioning, (ours didn’t) but the rooms are spacious and clean and the beds comfortable.
The restaurant food was good and plentiful, especially breakfast, with a wide selection to choose from. You could buy snacks and wine/beers/ice cream from reception and drinks including wine from the restaurant as well. We had a fridge in our apartment, so we were able to buy a bottle of wine and enjoy a glass on our beautiful terrace or in the shady area below before dinner.
The Tuscan Fitness aspect, including yoga and Hiking was of an excellent standard and the resident teachers Elske, Olaf and
Alex made it a fantastic experience.. I definitely learnt so much from them! I had a massage and reiki with Olaf which was definitely up there as one of the best ever!
I hiked four out of seven days, including a fabulous hilly hike to an Abbey which was stunning. The hikes were challenging in the heat, but was a lovely experience, time to chat and get to know others in the group. People came and went which meant for lots of variety!
The swimming pool and allocated sun beds/shaded area was beautiful and so refreshing after a yoga class or hike. We watched the sunrise early one morning from The Big Bench, just below the pool.
I thoroughly enjoyed our week and would return in the future, maybe even try out one of the yoga retreats in another location that Tuscan Fitness run??
Elske and Olaf are two of our amazing teachers, with years of experience teaching and understanding bodies. They are both massage therapists as well as teachers giving them a deeper understanding of the human body which allows for a practice that enables comfort and growth.
