About this Retreat
Corey Martin is a Yale-trained family physician driven to change the delivery of healthcare and improve the mental and physical health of our communities. He is a founder of
Innovations in Resilience and the
Bounce Back Project, a practicing private group physician, Bush Fellow, and a consultant to many healthcare and educational organizations in their response to clinician burnout. Driven to do this work by the loss of two colleagues and friends, Corey strives to create an environment of opportunity in which all of us can do the deep, heartfelt work of changing the way we show up and interact in each other’s lives.
One of the ways he does this is by facilitating resilience retreats across the United States and throughout the world. He is both a Certified Daring Way Facilitator and Center for Courage and Renewal Facilitator in training and facilitates workshops based on the work of Brené Brown and Parker Palmer. In his free time, he enjoys working on his farm which he has recently turned into an event center. He lives in Maple Lake, MN with his three daughters. He is a recovering perfectionist and an aspiring “good enoughist”.
As an individual, Mary strives to be a catalyst for change. She strongly believes in moving towards purpose and meaning by avoiding the focus on what people don't want. Her superpower lies in emotional intelligence (EQ). Mary possesses the ability to quickly understand the motivations, energies, processes, and needs of people, enabling a fulfilling and satisfying life.
Mary's expertise lies in generating momentum. She leads with infectious energy and an open heart, strengthening relationships and propelling progress. Mary specializes in developing and conducting courses that lead to lasting transformation.
With over 25 years of experience, Mary has worked with individuals striving for excellence in both personal and professional lives. At Innovations in Resilience, they understand the tremendous value of working within a retreat community. They also recognize the impact of one-on-one sessions following their retreats, which can be truly empowering.
Through a diverse range of experiences, including traditional business environments, personal retreats, and one-on-one work, Mary has gained a unique advantage that has contributed to her own growth and understanding. Her ultimate goal is to dismantle the narratives that keep problems in place, hindering fulfillment, satisfaction, and self-nurturing.

Introduction to the Enneagram Retreat - Maple Lake, MN
August 21–22, 2025
“The Enneagram doesn’t put you in a box—it shows you the box you’re already in, and how to get out of it.” — Ian Morgan Cron
If you've ever wondered why you keep reacting the same way—or why the people around you seem wired so differently—you're not alone. This immersive, down-to-earth Enneagram retreat in Minnesota is designed to help you discover the deep motivations and hidden patterns that drive your behavior. It’s the kind of insight that can shift your relationships, rewire your leadership style, and reconnect you to yourself.
Hosted at our peaceful retreat center in Maple Lake, Minnesota, this workshop blends powerful personal insight with the restorative beauty of nature. With two beautifully restored barns, rolling green land, and wide-open skies, this is the perfect place to slow down and explore the terrain of your inner life.
Whether you’re brand new to the Enneagram or already know your number (and your wing... and your stress line...), this retreat is a place to ask real questions, listen deeply, and reflect honestly. You'll leave with practical tools, increased self-awareness, and maybe even a little more compassion—for yourself and others.
TENTATIVE DAILY SCHEDULE
Day One: Introduction to the Enneagram
Thursday, August 21
12:30–4:30 PMThis engaging afternoon workshop is your gateway into the Enneagram: a powerful personality framework used by therapists, spiritual directors, coaches, and leaders worldwide. Through story, humor, group dialogue, and guided reflection, we’ll explore the core motivations, fears, and patterns of each of the nine Enneagram types.
You’ll begin to identify your own type and understand how your Enneagram number shapes how you see the world—and how the world sees you. Whether you’ve taken a test and forgotten the result or you’re a curious skeptic, this session will meet you where you are.
5:30–9:00 PMImmediately following the workshop, we’ll host a relaxed, joy-filled gathering for all past Bounce Travels retreat participants. Expect meaningful conversation, shared laughter, food, music, beverages and plenty of connection as we gather under the Minnesota sky. This event is optional but warmly encouraged—because retreat community doesn’t end when the plane lands.
Day Two: Deep Dive into the Enneagram
Friday, August 22 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PMFor those craving more, Day Two offers a deeper dive into advanced Enneagram wisdom. We’ll explore topics like:
Enneagram wings and how they influence your core type
Stress and growth paths (how your number shifts under pressure or in health)
Relational dynamics between numbers, including how Enneagram types show up in friendships, partnerships, family, and teams
Practical tools for using the Enneagram in leadership, communication, and emotional wellbeing
This deeper Enneagram workshop is perfect for those who want to integrate what they’ve learned into everyday life and relationships.
Continuing Education Credit
We’re offering up to 10 hours of CME/CEUs for healthcare professionals who want to integrate this work into their practice. The Enneagram is increasingly used in leadership development, burnout prevention, communication training, and team dynamics—making this not just personally insightful, but professionally relevant.
