Elyse is passionate about supporting people in reconnecting with their bodies, the earth, and their innate capacity for healing. With a background in transpersonal psychotherapy and advanced training in somatic therapy, psychedelic integration, and de-escalation, she blends mindfulness, eco-psychology, and somatic practices to help individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, and depression. Alongside her private practice, Cricket Song Counseling & Coaching in Portland, OR, Elyse serves as Director of Operations and retreat leader with the nonprofit Right To Heal and as an educator with InnerTrek’s Psychedelic Training Program. Rooted in earth-based spirituality, her work is guided by the belief that healing happens through deepening one’s connection to oneself, others, and the natural world.
Since 2018, Myles Katz has dedicated himself to advancing the field of legal psilocybin experiences. He co-founded The Synthesis Institute in Amsterdam, where he helped develop one of the world’s first legal psychedelic service models. This initiative supported over 1,000 individuals on their wellness journeys and included a significant partnership with Imperial College London, enriching his understanding of effective psychedelic practices. His experience with Synthesis led to an invitation onto the board of the Oregon Psilocybin Training Alliance (OPTA) and various Rule Advisory Committees for the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), where he helps shape the framework for Oregon’s legal psilocybin services.
Through the ongoing exploration of psychedelics across the globe and under the mentorship of inspirational teachers over the following eight years, Myles has developed a deep appreciation for both the power of the psychedelic experience itself and the neuroplasticity it fosters. This neuroplasticity helps individuals become open and receptive to things that otherwise feel out of reach or inaccessible due to the noise of our chaotic, technology-overloaded modern world. It has been pivotal in helping him and others make meaningful, lasting changes in the months following the psychedelic journey that once seemed impossible. He believes that knowing how to work with this neuroplasticity is key to using psychedelics as a tool to support the journey from ‘functioning’ to ‘flourishing.’
Myles’s own journey with psychedelics began at the age of 28 when he overcame his addiction to alcohol and lifted the fog of depression that had shrouded his life since the passing of his mother when he was 15. This profound experience revealed the incredible potential of psychedelics to facilitate deep healing and transformation. He is passionate and experienced in guiding individuals on their first therapeutic and inward psilocybin journeys. His goal is to help others not just make the changes they seek today but to embark on a conscious healing journey that transforms their lives.
With the Hi-U Foundation and Confluence Retreats – the nonprofit he founded and conducts his facilitation practice through – Myles utilizes his expertise to create nature-based, multi-modality psilocybin retreats within Oregon’s legal framework. These retreats are enhanced by partnerships with indigenous communities and are grounded in validated therapeutic practices, reflecting his dedication to facilitating profound personal growth and healing. At Omnia, he focuses on providing one-on-one client sessions, bringing elements of their transformative retreat experiences into a more traditional setting to maximize the therapeutic benefits of psilocybin.
Thundereater is a member of the indigenous Shasta Nation, White Eagle Clan. A 65-year old great grandfather, he has lived a very full life including serving in the US military abroad, working with plant medicines and many trainings in the realms of spirituality and healing. Most recently, by trade, he is a stone mason, and the visionary and creator of the Sacred Land’s magical Labyrinth.
As a Native American and Tibetan shaman, Thundereater has spent the last 20 years facilitating full moon healing circles at Mt. Shasta, California bringing together people of different cultures and religious frames of reference to promote the Peace and Healing of all.
Thundereater’s ancestors came to this Sacred Land (Ashland, Oregon) to heal to heal with the Hi-U-Skookum medicine, and he came to this land to play as a child. He has now returned as an Elder to help usher in the next iteration of the land’s journey and help preserve it as a place of healing for all in perpetuity.
Tsana is a dedicated yoga teacher and licensed psilocybin facilitator with nearly two decades of experience guiding others in movement, meditation, and self-inquiry. Her journey began at 16, leading her to study under Parvathi Nanda Nath, a respected teacher in the traditions of Tantra and Shree Vidya. Deeply rooted in the ancient wisdom of the yoginis, Tsana weaves philosophy, meditation, and hands-on support into her Hatha flow teaching style. Now balancing motherhood with her passion for healing work, she brings a grounded and intuitive presence to her practice, creating space for others to reconnect with themselves through breath, body, and expanded states of awareness.

An outstanding program
The five day Confluence retreat changed my life. I was on antidepressants for many years to cope with severe trauma. I finally found a psychotherapist who helped me identify the issues I needed to overcome, but I reached a point where I needed to go deeper than just talking to someone. I was impressed by the extensive preparation ahead of the psilocybin journeys, the many levels of support during the retreat and the support with reintegration to life afterwards that Confluence provided. I have been off all medications for several months now and have a calm, peaceful life at last.

Wonderfully life changing
I attended a Confluence five-day group retreat in June 2025 and the experience has changed my life in deep, meaningful ways. There is a lightness, a spaciousness in me that I hadn’t experienced before; the rigidity of thought and action that had been with me most of my adult life has softened and I now regularly feel a sense of deep peace and groundedness. My journey began before actually taking the psilocybin; with expert guidance and information provided by Confluence weeks before the retreat, I felt prepared and comfortable by the time I met my fellow group members and facilitators. Even though our psilocybin journeys were individual/internal experiences, being together as a group and sharing our vulnerabilities and experiences before and after each journey gave me a profound sense of healing connection and bonding that will stay with me for a long time. We were provided comfortable lodging in the beautiful woods of Oregon, delicious meals, and participated in activities that encouraged introspection, presence and mindfulness. The whole experience was much more than taking psilocybin - which was its own amazing, incredible, meaningful experience that can’t be put into words – but Confluence Retreats made sure that we each felt safe and supported so that we could just focus on/wholly participate in our internal mushroom journey. Thanks to the magic of the mushrooms, I now have this deep knowing of my own strength and wisdom that has been in me all along. I am so incredibly grateful to have had this experience. Truly and wonderfully life changing.

Confluence experience
The folks at Confluence Retreats surpassed all my expectations. In a peaceful nature setting, I was met with a thoughtful, supportive staff. I felt cared for, my every need addressed. Myles & Elyse were terrific & their support didn’t end when I left. If you’re thinking of a psilocybin experience, this is the best.

Absolutely Fantastic!
If I could give Confluence six stars I would!! I went to a lot of work studying psychedelic retreat centers, and it paid off. I wanted a legal center, hopefully in the United States. I have suffered from depression and anxiety all my life. I needed something above and beyond the usual medications. I wanted a multi-day, multi-session format to get the most out of the program. I have a pacemaker, and some centers rejected me, even though I had the approval of my cardiologist. The lead facilitator, Myles, gently guided me through the process of sending a letter from my doctor to their doctor and accepting me.
I had been experimenting with mushrooms, so Myles worked with me on that. I was frankly nervous about the group idea, but in the end we bonded, under ideal guidance, into a family that continues to be connected. Once you are enrolled:
1. They do prep meetings over the web and are available for personalized support during the run-up. They carefully explain the “boundary guidelines”, which are important for interacting with each other in what will be very sensitive and vulnerable states of mind.
2. They pick you up at the airport on the first day and do pre-flight sessions. We even had a shaman guide, Thunder Eater, to bless our gatherings and journeys.
3. The accommodations are beautiful, luxury cabins shared between two, in the middle of the Siskiyou National Forest. Each cabin has its own hot tub and a deck.
4. The food is simple, but delicious, home cooking. Recommendable on its own.
5. It’s a five day experience, and days two and four are journey days. On those days they take you to the Omnia center in Ashland where a lovely couple, Brian and his wife, attended to us. Omnia offers gourmet snacks and electrolyte water as you are coming down. You can sit on the deck of their enclosed Japanese-style garden and enjoy the butterflies and hummingbirds.
6. You consume precisely measured and assayed mushroom powder, which you drink as lemon tea, in a ceremony, after breathing exercises. You lay down with eyeshades and high quality earphones on comfy beds to start your journey. They have carefully designed playlists for each component. One of the facilitators, “spirit dancer” Kai, blessed us and sprinkled us with rose water during the journeys. I loved the extra attention, but rose water sprinkling is optional, as is any physical contact by the facilitators during the journey. First and foremost, they want you to feel safe and secure.
7. I had powerful but uneventful journeys both days. A few of the group needed intensive support during their journeys, and they got it.
8. Days three and five are integration days. On the fifth day there was a closing ceremony and then they took us to the airport. The views on the road between the retreat center and Ashland are so breathtakingly beautiful that once we stopped on the way just to look at the scenery.
All of our facilitators, Myles, Elyse, Kai and Thunder Eater are experienced, and are obviously psychedelic enthusiasts who have had their own healing process. For them Confluence is clearly a labor of love. All together, my Confluence retreat was one of the most important and uplifting experiences I have ever had in my entire 76 year life!

High Expectations
I came to the Confluence after extensively researching the "best" legal psilocybin retreats in the US. I had done several single day, underground retreats in the past, but wanted to try a multi day retreat that was both legal and well reviewed. My expectations were high. I was not disappointed.
Beginning at the intake interview, and continuing through the last integration session, I found all dealings with the staff to be personable, professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and impeccable in integrity. There was an atmosphere of open sharing, and trust that was created among the participants, and an intrinsic sense of safety seem to be immersive with the entire experience. From the counselors to the cook, they all seem to be great at what they did and enjoyed their work!
Needless to say, they provided the necessary support in defining my expectations and intentions for what I wanted to get out of my work at Confluence, and help integrating the lessons that I learned on my journey. They introduced me to breathwork, which I was resistant to, but found very helpful, and continue to work with. The licensed center that provided the facility and the mushrooms for the journey was great! They worked seamlessly with our counselors, to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for the actual psilocybin journey. The facility itself is perfect, providing an indoor/outdoor courtyard that was perfect for what we were doing.
The retreat center itself where we stayed was top-notch, comfortable, well, appointed and in a beautiful setting. The food was exceptional, and the cook/chef was great!
I highly recommend the Confluence for anybody looking for a multi day psilocybin retreat.
