Kate McCabe

Kate is the creator of Sacred Heart Sonora and a plant medicine guide specializing in the living medicine Bufo Alvarius. She is a MFTT obtaining a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy and provides intake and integration services for clients. She believes in pairing talk therapy with medicine and is interested in intersection of psychology, shamanism, and psychedelics. Kate has worked with Bufo Alvarius since 2018, has held space in over 1,300 ceremonies, and completed her training with the medicine over the course of many years with her partner who is a medical doctor and pioneer of Bufo Alvarius with over 20 years of experience. Kate is an advocate of Sonoran Desert Toad Conservation and the ethical collection of medicine. She has spent the last four summers promoting conservation efforts at Rancho Bufo Alvarius in Magdalena de Kino, Sonora. She has appeared in documentaries by VICE, Channel 4, and Strg_f.

Experienced and versatile physician specializing in Geriatric Medicine, with nine years of comprehensive healthcare delivery across diverse patient populations. My practice is rooted in a holistic philosophy that integrates preventive care, chronic disease management, acute treatment, and mind-body-spirit therapies. In addition to traditional medical practice, I serve as a psychedelic therapist, supporting transformative healing processes through the responsible and therapeutic use of psychedelics, including certification in facilitating 5-MeO-DMT therapy. I am committed to fostering long-term health and well-being by addressing the whole person — body, mind, and spirit — and promoting the restoration of balance at all levels of being. Known for building meaningful, trust-based patient relationships and collaborating effectively within interdisciplinary teams, I bridge traditional and emerging approaches to healthcare with a consciousness-centered, heart-led commitment to healing.

Experience Bufo Alvarius with us in Tulum, Mexico, in a private ceremony. This ceremony includes an introduction call, medical intake, medical supervision during the ceremony, medicine journal with acitivites, and integration support after the ceremony.

All reservations are pending the approval of a medical intake.

Schedule

We will meet at the holistic center where the ceremony takes place. We will do a private consultation and instructions on the inhalation of the medicine and the process itself will be given.

After the medicine is inhaled the participant will have an out of body experience for approximately 20-40 minutes enabling a full release of accumulated stress. During this time space is lovingly held.

Once the participant is back in their body we will allow space for them to process and may offer a light snack and or juice to assist with grounding.

After the ceremony you are invited to hang out and enjoy the holistic center.

A wonderful experience the way I was treated was very professional but the most important aspect was the love and compassion that Dr Gerry and Kate had for me before and after the journey of the Toad.
