César Vásquez is the founder and director of Takinuna, known as a Tronco Huachumero, Ayahuasquero, Tabaquero, and Camalonguero who has dedicated over 20 years to exploring the healing potential of Amazonian plant medicines. Currently immersed in Takinuna’s shamanic training, she is expanding her capacity to integrate both psychotherapy and plant medicine, creating a truly transformative healing environment. Throughout his extensive Amazonian shamanic practice, Luis has immersed himself in a rich shamanic lineage and has worked with numerous Master Plants from the Amazon. As the brother of César, he embodies the deep-rooted traditions of Banco Huachumero Shamans and curanderos, firmly grounded in the pure jungle tradition.
With more than 10 years of experience in ceremonies, Luis is a master in the preparation of Huachuma (San Pedro) and possesses an extensive knowledge of a wide array of Amazonian Master Plants. He understands how these plants can catalyze holistic healing and expanded awareness for those who attend our ceremonies at Takinuna.
Luis is also in charge of plant and flower cleansings, overseeing every step from the meticulous handmade preparation to the careful delivery of these sacred cleansings. Directions
To reach Takinuna, fly into Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in Lima, Peru, and then take a domestic flight to Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta Airport (IQT) in Iquitos (Iquitos airport only receives domestic flights). We recommend arriving around 2:00 p.m.
We'll pick you up from the airport or a nearby restaurant, depending on your arrival time. From there, a car will take you to the port, where a boat will be ready to bring you to our Centre—just 40 minutes from Iquitos, immersed in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
