Dr. Kavhane, Ph.D., is an internationally acclaimed yogasana champion and a respected leader in the yoga community. As the Director of Maharashtriya Mandal’s Yoga and Ayurved Prabodhini in Pune, she has dedicated her life to sharing yoga’s transformative power. She has represented India on global stages, winning gold medals in Spain, Portugal, and Argentina, and has received prestigious honors, including the Yoga Bhushan Award and the Yoga Ratna Award. As a direct student of B.K.S. Iyengar, she received a gold medal directly from his hands.
With advanced degrees in Yoga and Physical Education, Dr. Kavhane has conducted over 3,000 yoga sessions worldwide, mentoring NDA cadets, athletes, and cricket teams. Passionate about youth empowerment, she has spent over two decades teaching underprivileged children and leading initiatives like “Yoga Mission for a Fit Nation.” She is also involved in an integrative medicine project at the Vishwanand Kendra Institute, which combines elements of Western medicine, Ayurveda, and Yoga.
Beyond yoga, she is a skilled swimmer and a rope mallakhamb athlete. She believes yoga is more than just a practice—it’s a way of life that builds confidence, discipline, and inner strength. Through her workshops, courses, and social initiatives, she continues to inspire the next generation with her powerful message: “My work is my identity, and yoga is the essence of my life.”
