Peace Retreat

This was my second stay at Peace. I came for the Liberium Gnosis retreat again. The consistency with service, food, and kindness was perfect, as it was before. The new maloca that is being built is beautiful! I love being surrounded by the sounds of the jungle. Kevin’s yoga classes are always awesome! Such deep wisdom. The ceremonies with Alejandro, Berenice y Ignacio were next level! I highly recommend them. I love being so close to the beach, the La esquinita de avallanas market and cute restaurants. Thank you to Daniella, she is my favorite employee! So sweet. I will be back!

I spent a week at Peace Retreat in Playa Negra, Costa Rica for Yoga Teacher Training, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The accommodations were clean, simple, and comfortable—perfect for focusing on rest and rejuvenation. The staff were truly a joy to be around: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making the whole community feel like family. The retreat’s location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with just a 30-minute walk to the beautiful Playa Negra beach for sunset swims and downtime. The yoga and meditation spaces are serene and inspiring, providing the perfect setting for deepening your practice and learning.

What truly made this week unforgettable were the special experiences Peace Retreat offers. A shaman joined us for both a sweat lodge (temazcal) and a cacao ceremony, both of which were soulful, powerful, and deeply connecting for our group. The combination of clean, comfortable accommodations, outstanding staff, tranquil practice spaces, and meaningful ceremonial opportunities truly set Peace Retreat apart. If you’re considering a yoga teacher training or any sort of wellness retreat, I would absolutely recommend Peace Retreat—10/10!

I had no idea how recharging it could be to be fully immersed in the jungle, away from the noise of regular life, with a team of people taking care of me. Peace Retreat exceeded my expectations on cleanliness, food, safety, kindness and hospitality. It can feel like a mountain to climb in order to set our life up in a way to get away for a week, but it was worth every bit of coordination to make it happen. Having brought a group to join me at this retreat, I kept thinking that I wish more people would have said yes to the experience as I know how many of us need to recharge our batteries. I would hands down come back here with a group, or even by myself for a scheduled retreat. I highly recommend the ceremonies and the relaxing massage.

This retreat center is absolutely amazing! It’s nestled in the jungle, where you hear nothing but nature. It’s a short walk to a gorgeous beach and you really feel detached from the busyness of the city here. The food was otherworldly and they accommodated all of my food allergies. Kevin’s yoga classes were next level and I love how he integrates a lesson into the flow. The grounds are beautifully manicured with lots of chill little hangout spots. The whole space is thoughtfully curated. Don’t forget to visit the spa, the massage I got there incorporated a little bit of energy work and it left me feeling so at ease. Can’t wait to return in December!
