Details of this retreat

Healing does not always have to be heavy.

Stress, anxiety, and trauma tend to settle in the body, and real healing has to include the body as well as the mind. In this weekend with licensed professional counselor and Integral Yoga teacher Sam Desai, yoga psychology meets somatic movement and evidence-based mental health principles. Together they offer a way to unwind long-held strain and return to an easy relationship with yourself.

You will explore how somatic release soothes the nervous system. You will learn to notice where stress and physical defenses show up in your body, then meet them with gentle, restorative movement and mindful breathing. These are simple, concrete tools for moving from chronic overwhelm toward emotional ease.

And you will laugh. Playfulness, lightheartedness, and structured laughter practices are at the center of this program. Whether you want to deepen your yoga practice, bring body-centered methods into your clinical work, or simply reset in a peaceful community, you will go home with practices you can use every day.
