Janie is a globally established, highly experienced sound practitioner who has been working full time in the sound field since 2017. Originally from the UK, Janie has lived and worked in the US, Spain, China and now India. She set up her first sound studio in the UK in 2017, opened spaces at pioneering landscape hotel Kudhva and award-winning retreat centre Cabilla Cornwall in 2020, and moved to Goa in 2022, where she has established Yoke Goa, a hybrid space to hold Silence & Noise trainings as well as other holistic retreats and creative offerings.
In addition to her expertise in sound artistry, Janie is also a senior yoga teacher and an Usui Reiki Master, with extensive experience of integrating sound into other modalities and teachings. She is fascinated by psychedelia, neuroscience and the quantum field and continues to practice as an evolutionary astrologer.
As founder of Silence & Noise, Janie alchemises sound, science and spirit to explore the edges of the mind and the space beyond; she specialises in creating transcendent psycho-spiritual experiences, deeply relaxing lucid dreamstates, regenerative soul journeys and connections with cosmic consciousness.
Janie is a certified neuroscience coach and has a particular interest in the impact of sound on PTSD, chronic stress and anxiety, ADHD and the neurodivergent experience. She also holds a trauma-informed practice certification.
As of 2025, she is also the Director of Sound Healing & Therapy at CH2 Wellness, a non-profit organisation headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, and dedicated to bringing holistic and alternative therapies to the frontline of medical treatment in India and beyond. As part of the CH2 brief she is currently leading the development of a sound therapeutics research and training programme in association with the National Institute of Naturopathy, on behalf of India’s Ministry of AYUSH.
Janie is super passionate about research-based knowledge, and the need to engage in sacred and powerful work with framework, experience and understanding of its impact. She’s just as passionate about Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Prodigy and Blur, and also about coffee, cats and surfing!
You can read Janie’s book “The Healing Power of Sound” published by David & Charles in 2024.
