I recently returned from an Iboga retreat with Root & Wisdom, guided by Troy, Joaly, and their entire team, and I can say with full integrity that the experience was held with exceptional care, depth, and reverence.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that safety was not just a protocol—it was a priority woven into every layer of the container. The medical screening, preparation, dosing, monitoring, and integration support were handled with professionalism and attentiveness. I felt fully supported physically, emotionally, and spiritually throughout the entire process.

What stood out most was the sacredness of the container. This was not a casual retreat or a surface-level experience. The ceremonies were conducted with deep respect for the Bwiti tradition and a clear, energetically aligned connection to Gabon. You could feel that this was not borrowed medicine—it was lineage-honored medicine. The team carries the spirit of Iboga with humility and authenticity, and that integrity makes all the difference.

The personalized attention was remarkable. Every participant was seen as an individual, not a number. Dosing, guidance, and integration were tailored with discernment and care. The team remained present and steady, allowing the medicine to work while ensuring each person felt safe enough to fully surrender to the process.

The depth of ceremony was profound. The silence, the pacing, the energetic clarity of the space—all of it supported a direct and intimate relationship with Iboga itself. I cannot say enough about my experience at Root & Wisdom. I'm 53 years old and have only just begun my spiritual awakening, which started with a calling to Ayahuasca. Following this incredible experience, I found Root & Wisdom and felt immediately drawn to Iboga and specifically, Root & Wisdom. After much research, I attended their retreat in January of 2026. From the moment I stepped off of the shuttle from the airport, I was blown away by the beauty of the location and the sincere welcome received by Troy, Joaly and the rest of the R&W facilitators. Every moment, from arrival to departure, felt purpose-built and fit perfectly with the experience. The Costa Rican staff were second to none and provided over-the-top care to all guests. We were routinely told by each facilitator: "If there is anything we can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask." The ceremonies were held using traditional Bwiti tradition (with explanation) as well as down-to-earth storytelling and insightful teachings by Troy that made us all feel our intentions clearly and like we were part of "something". Following the ceremonies, great care is taken by the facilitators to ensure proper stillness and integration in the days following. The additional retreat inclusions, such as the spiritual shower, meditations, yoga, sound healing and waterfall excursion were so perfectly timed/executed and they each enhanced the experience exponentially. I encourage anyone thinking about working with Iboga to give Root & Wisdom their full consideration as I cannot imagine having a better first (or next) Iboga experience. The wisdom gained during this experience, especially as someone just coming to know the spiritual world, will be with me for the rest of my life. I'm so thankful to Troy, Joaly, Ryan, Steph, Mountain, Brayan, Zaida and all of the Costa Rican staff for a once in a lifetime experience.

I was completely blown away that this far exceeded my expectations. All of my intentions have been fulfilled and them some. The staff and facilitators are truly amazing people who genuinely want to serve you. This experience was definitely what I needed and have been searching for for quite some time. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s ready to break their addiction to suffering.

This retreat will transform your life for so many reasons. The staff, the food and the grounds make you feel connected to the universe before you ever take the medicine. The ceremonies were done with reverence and respect. I came for one issue but my eyes were opened to so much more. My brain has been defragged. My body regenerated and my heart has been opened. This was a once in a lifetime experience.

I think the retreat was very good. I liked that Troy talked to me one on one during the ceremonies, and during the entire retreat.
