MADREDIOSA

Madrediosa…. This was the highlight of my 20 day Costa Rica trip.

I booked the 6-day private aya medicine retreat on retreat guru. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I wasn’t prepared to step into such a warm, welcoming and vibrant oasis to be able to call home for a week.

The space itself is simple, but beautiful and intentional. The location is incredible. Super peaceful, deep jungle vibes but you can still hear the waves rolling in at Playa Cocles and you can walk into town. Perfection.

Mar, the host and spirit guide, is the best part of it all. She is a joyous lunatic in all the best ways ❤️ . Such an incredible light of a human being, vibrant, fun energy and made me feel not only welcome but genuinely cared for the whole time. We spent days together, got to meet a handful of her amazing friends and she made the experience something I will never, ever forget.

It was the perfect blend of holding space for my emotions, lifting my spirit up to appreciate the beauty all around us, and LOTS of laughter. I did the 6 day aya medicine retreat. If i could do it all again i would have stayed there the whole time. It was so intimate and genuine. I am so glad I chose Madrediosa over the large group retreats in CR. If I could do it all again i wouldn’t change a thing, except maybe never leaving lol.

All of Costa Rica was beautiful and fun, but this was my little utopia and I truly miss it already. I will absolutely be coming back just to visit Mar and Madrediosa.

I had a truly great experience at this retreat. Mar was extremely caring and created a safe and supportive environment throughout the entire process. The ceremonies were well-guided and deeply meaningful, and helped to create lasting mental health benefits afterwards. I left with a lot more clarity and insight that has helped me focus more in my day-to-day life. I highly recommended this for anyone, it was a life changing experience.

Madrediosa is a peaceful and beautiful place surrounded by a natural chorus from the jungle. It was so calming to sit, listen, and watch the hummingbirds, butterflies, agoutis, and frogs.

This was one of the most profound experiences of my life. The journey led me to reframe several traumatic events which helped me to feel less anxiety and fear in my daily life. I became aware of negative thought patterns that were keeping me stuck. I feel more connected and more trusting of my intuition. I had lost my connection to my inner wisdom and this experience reconnected me to my higher self. In the past I was consumed by worry and fear and would often imagine the worst outcome in any given situation. I have since shifted. The negative thoughts aren’t gone, but I am aware of them and know that it isn’t reality and that I can choose to be present instead of spiraling into a panic. It was a very beautiful and meaningful experience that went beyond any expectation that I had going into it.

Mar is the absolute best guide we could have asked for! She is gentle yet direct and so very knowledgeable. She helps put you at ease and helps you to feel safe and cared for at all times. Before we arrived we told Mar a little about things we wanted to work on, and she helped us to know ahead of time about foods and lifestyle choices that we should avoid for a few weeks in order to have the best possible experience. From the beginning of our visit she embraced us and helped us to feel welcomed and even introduced us to her family and friends. During the ceremony Mar was there checking in to make sure that we were ok and to offer guidance when we needed it. The ceremony felt magical as Mar would play drums and bells and sing and those sounds would somehow weave into whatever was happening in my mind. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet Mar and to go through this experience with her as our guide. I had the experience that my soul needed.

I'm truly grateful that Mar is who I decided to take this journey with. Mar is an incredible person who welcomes you with open arms. I always felt safe and was never nervous with her.

I got more from the ceremonies than I could have imagined. I feel like 100lbs lighter coming home. My life is immediately different in the best ways. Mar always knew what I needed and what to say at exactly the right time.

I'll never forget the experience, the jungle, Mar, and the other lovely people I met through this journey.

I had an amazing experience. Mar was a wonderful guide she always seemed to ask how I was doing when i needed it. She set a beautiful atmosphere in the Costa Rican jungle where she sings and plays music during ceremony. Puerto Viejo is a very chill place with beautiful beaches and kind people.

My first ceremony was a bit of a struggle for me because I had been repressing my emotions for so long. The second ceremony was very powerful for me. I had an incredibly Cathartic experience. I felt like i talked to God. I will remember it for the rest of my life. I experienced so much love and gratitude, its impossible to describe with words. If you feel like Ayahuasca is calling to you then I highly recommend it, and If you decide to go to Costa Rica with Mar then you will be in good hands. I can tell Mar does this because she wants truly cares about people and wants to help.
