Jamie has been practicing yoga for more than 25 years. Before turning to yoga, she worked as an actress, singer, and dancer, with performances on stage, film and television. Her journey as a
teacher began when she sought to share the benefits of yoga with a friend living with MS, leading her to train in Yoga Nidra.
She is among the rare practitioners to have completed the entire original Ashtanga yoga syllabus, studying with David Swenson, Nancy Gilgoff, and Manju Jois. In addition, she has cultivated a deep appreciation for Vedic chanting under the guidance of Shantala Sriramaiah.
Her practice has also been enriched by workshops with Bob Thurman and John Campbell, as well as explorations of Tibetan yoga, experiences that have allowed her to integrate decades of
study into a teaching style rooted in joy and presence.
Jamie is the mother of two daughters and continues to find inspiration in dance.
Details of this retreat
Join us for a joyful weekend of yoga, meditation, and dharma talks with Robert Thurman, John Campbell, and Jamie Bonelli as we immerse in the transformative practices of Vajrayoga™.
Vajrayoga™ is Tibet House US’s school of yoga and inner science, integrating the physical and meditative disciplines of both Indian and Tibetan traditions. Rooted in wisdom teachings, these practices are designed to uplift the mind—from stress to joy—while opening the body to vitality, balance, and inner freedom.
During this immersive weekend you will experience:
Morning meditation, pranayama, and Tibetan healing yoga
Dharma talks and guided meditation with Robert Thurman and John Campbell, drawing from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the great Buddhist yoga tantras in the tradition of Nāgārjuna and other masters
Afternoon Hatha Yoga practices with Jamie and John to open the body and subtle energy systems
Evening yoga nidra, kirtan, and other restorative practices for deep rest and integration
All levels are welcome. Modifications will be offered to support those with injuries or physical limitations.
A Living Wisdom Tradition
Unlike a traditional academic approach, Vajrayoga teachings invite you into a living lineage of inner transformation. At the heart of this tradition is the relationship between teacher and student, where presence, reflection, and inquiry awaken authentic growth.
