For Alix, nutrition, a healthy lifestyle and Yoga have always been of paramount importance. She is a strong supporter of the Latin saying ‘mens sana in corpore sano’, which means that only a healthy body can support a healthy mind, so we should strive to keep our bodies in top condition. She has been practicing Yoga for many years in order to sustain a well balanced life, she has completed trainings in India for (200hr) ashtanga yoga and in Costa Rica for a (200 hr) vinyasa and massage therapy course and believes that through asana practice we can sustain a clearer consciousness. Alix wants to impart her knowledge onto her students helping them to understand their bodies and therefore be able to delve more deeply into each pose. This was the genesis which led to the development of the” Body and Mind” company. She has lived in many countries, and experienced many different cultures, and from this she has been inspired to follow the fundamentals of the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle which provides the most comprehensive combination of nutrition, well-being and family-oriented ideals. This philosophy is not about deprivation or even having to worry about how to manage a harmonious diet and lifestyle, instead Alix wants to open up a world of delicious and well balanced menus that you can take home with you and use for the rest of your life.
Elske and Olaf are two of our amazing teachers, with years of experience teaching and understanding bodies. They are both massage therapists as well as teachers giving them a deeper understanding of the human body which allows for a practice that enables comfort and growth.

The villa offers a total of 7 bedrooms and can accommodate 18 people, we will host the retreat with a maximum of 12 guests in order to keep it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
All rooms have ensuite bathrooms and there are room for both private solo travellers and those who would like to share with a friend, spouse or family member.
This retreat will focus on the awakening energies of the spring, allowing us to hone in on our bodies and bring them from a more introspective winter to a blossoming creative spring. We will follow 2 yoga classes per day, hiking and fitness and with time for massages and other extra activities. We will be enjoying the beaches as well as local restaurants.
Most of the meals will take place on the property curated by your local private chef, giving us that truly pampered feeling.
Alix, Elske and Olaf will be the mains teachers on this retreat and they will help you move through the week allowing you to feel rejuvenated and supercharged when you leave.

My yoga and fitness tribe
I have been going to Tuscan Fitness for the last 5 years and have joined them also in other retreat locations. Alix is a dream, not only for her balanced and relax approach to fitness - do not get me wrong, her HIIT classes are literally ‘to die for’ in a very real physical way but you you don’t need to feel bad if you decide to skip them - but also just simply because she is that real, genuine, grounded caring spirit that you need in your life. It amazes me to no end how this place seems to draw exceptionally good-hearted people, from the yoga teachers to guests. Each time I come out feeling not only well and fit but incredibly blessed. This New Year retreat delivered just that and more, ringing in the new with beautiful beings, who were strangers on day 1 and magically kindred souls by day 5 . It is a testament to the energy of Alix and La Forra. It will feed your mind, body and soul and beyond! Trust me!

Hi, for anybody that wants to travel to the countryside of Italy connect with nature and see beautiful Tuscany or any other place that Alix and team decide to do a retreat, I would totally recommend it!
The people that I’ve connected with a reflection of the creator's of this beautiful container! Yoga, fitness class, walk in nature, delicious food prepare with love. That was the best investment into my physical and mental health ever. I did enjoy the company of nice and different people from around the world gathered there: each with its unique life expertise. An Unforgettable Wellness Experience in the Heart of Tuscany
My stay at La Forra with Tuscan Fitness was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The accommodation was clean, spacious, and comfortable.
The food was fresh, healthy, plentiful and full of variety. Every meal felt nourishing, and satisfying, with plenty of options to choose from and generous servings.
The entire team at Tuscan Fitness deserves the highest praise. Every staff member was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. A special mention goes to Dave, whose guided walks were a highlight of the stay — his knowledge of the local history and plant life was fascinating, and his passion for the region truly shone through.
The yoga instructors, Elske and Sunny (guest instructor from Canada), were absolutely excellent. Their classes were beautifully guided and catered to all levels, combining daily yoga and meditation sessions that left me feeling grounded, calm, and refreshed each day.
I also loved the sense of community that naturally developed among guests. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere made it so easy to connect, socialise, and share experiences — I met some truly wonderful people and made friendships that will last well beyond the trip.
The daily rhythm of yoga, scenic walks, and the freedom to choose from other activities — whether it was joining a local tour, indulging in a massage, going horse riding, or simply relaxing by the pool — offered the perfect balance of structure and flexibility. Each day could be as active or restful as I wished.
The setting at La Forra is pure serenity — breathtaking views, peaceful stillness, and the gentle soundtrack of birdsong throughout the day. It’s the kind of place that instantly rejuvenates your soul and spirit.
If it weren’t so far from Australia, I’d be a regular visitor! I can’t recommend Tuscan Fitness enough — it’s a perfect blend of wellness, nature, culture and authentic Tuscan hospitality.
